The Six Orbits of Time are collectively the icon of time. Time is what allows for change in the Vast. Each Orbit iconizes the two faces of time: the Six Scales of Time, or Time as That Which Returns; and the Six Ages of Time, or Time as That Which Moves Forward.

Six Scales of Time

(Time as That Which Returns)

  1. Dot Time: this is the smallest increment of time, defined as the smallest amount of time required for any change to take place.
  2. 60 Time (10^1)
  3. 3600 Time (10^2)
  4. 261,000 Time (10^3)
  5. 12,960,000 Time (10^4)
  6. 777,600,000 Time (10^5)

Six Ages of Time

(Time as That Which Moves Forward)

The Six Ages of Time are the different eras the Vast has gone through. We are currently in the latter part of the Sixth Age. The Six Ages are as follows:

  1. Age of Light
  2. Age of Water
  3. Age of Land and Plant Life
  4. Age of Stars
  5. Age of Swimming Life and Flying Life
  6. Age of Animals and Humanity

The Six Orbits of Time are the Six Orbits of Space, seen dynamically (by moving through them as appointed by the Work).
